On April 26-28, 2022, Barcelona will host Seafood Expo Global, the world's largest event in the fishing industry. The participants of the Russian national stand and its organizer Expo Solutions Group are already getting ready to work at the exhibition and receive visas to enter Spain.

The restrictions of the past years have influenced on many areas, but the convention and exhibition industry suffered the most. Held in September 2021 of Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia confirmed the popularity of such events among the Russian and international business community. At the same time, Seafood Expo Global and Seafood Expo North America, the world's largest exhibitions, has a two-years pause, but in 2022 the organizers are determined to hold both shows on time.

To ensure the safety of exhibitors, visitors and staff the organizers will implement preventive restrictions. Measures at Seafood Expo Global will be much softer than the requirements ofthe Seafood Expo North America, which is scheduled for March 13-15 in Boston.

Due to the fact that the restrictions in Boston are tougher than in the rest USA, one may visit the event only having full vaccination certificate.Vaccines should be approved by WHO or FDA. This could be one of the reasons why a number of leading players refused to participate in the event, including one of the largest American suppliers of salmon, pollock, cod and crab Peter Pan Seafood, the leading North American processor and seller of frozen seafood High Liner Foods, the Norwegian companies Cermaq and Mowi ASA. Despite the absence of several market leaders, the professional community is looking forward to the exhibition.

Unlike the show in Boston, a negative PCR test result or an antibody certificate are enough to attend the Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona. The organizers said that one PCR test, made no earlier than April 25, will be enough to visit the event for its whole period.

“After the start of the pandemic, the rules for entering Spain have become more complicated, but it is still possible to obtain permission, there is no ban. We have already worked out the procedure for obtaining a business visa with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Spain and the organizers of the exhibition. Participants of the Russian stand will be able to enter the country if they have a valid PCR test or an antibody certificate. The exhibitors have already received their first visas and invitations to the exhibition,” commented Ivan Fetisov, CEO of Expo Solutions Group, the organizer of the Russian national stand.

In 2019, about 2,000 companies from 89 countries took part Seafood Expo Global & Seafood Processing Global. There were more than 74 national and regional stands. The total exposition area exceeded 40,000 square meters. The event was attended by 29,200 people from 155 countries.

In 2022, for the first time in its history, the show will be held in the new venue – Fira Barcelona Gran Via. Comparing to 2019, the area of Russian national pavilion almost doubled up to 1100 square meters. It will be located among world fishery leaders: China, Norway, the USA.
