13/04/2022

Forming the business program of Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia the organizers choose the most relevant issues of fishery industry. To make the participation really effective for exhibitors and visitors, its agenda includes trends that can become developmental drivers today. And canned fish products are one of them.

Now the potential of canned fish food products is huge - both for domestic consumption and for export. And rather simple transportation which doesn’t require low temperature storing is one of the reasons for that. But to fully realize this potential, we need a new approach to the consumer, new packaging solutions and processing technologies, traceability of product’s quality at all stages. All these issues will be covered within the framework of the first specialized conference organized together with VNIRO.

“Canned fish is well known product for everyone. For most people this is a symbol of a past era, but today we see a significant development in preservation and traceability technologies, which helps buyer to be sure in their quality and taste. The use of such technologies can benefit both industry and consumers and help to realize huge export potential. We keep developing Retail Center, attract more participants from far abroad and CIS countries to help exhibitors promote their products, including canned fish,” commented Ivan Fetisov, CEO of Expo Solutions Group.

Today canned fish and seafood products are presented in different price segments including premium - many people remember canned king crab or opilio crab which are hard to find now. Among the perspectives of such products are growing popularity in HoReCa sector in cooking ready-to-eat meal and environmentally friendly products; the development of export potential; the creation and promotion of local brands.

Within the framework of this conference, experts will also discuss the possibilities and ways to revive the scientific school of fish processing technologies as part of fishery science and apply its best practices in production.

The Fifth Anniversary Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia will be held on September 21-23 in St. Petersburg. The exposition area will be located in two pavilions of Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre and occupy 26 000 square meters.
