A significant part of the Seafood Expo Russia exposition is devoted to shipbuilding and ship repair. The section unites shipyards, ship repair enterprises, manufacturers of equipment and components for ships, engines and navigation, echolocation, propulsion systems’ producers.
The development of shipbuilding and ship repair competencies of Russian shipyards and design competencies of design bureaus is an important factor in ensuring the sustainable development of the fishery complex. It can only be achieved if the actions of all participants in the process are coordinated.
This section is traditionally attended by the leading representatives of the segment from Russia and other countries: USC, Nobel Brothers Shipyard, Yantar, DAMEN, Nordweller, Schottel, Remontowa, Yanmar and others. In 2021, 64 companies took part in this section of the exhibition.
Considering the implementation of a large-scale program for the renovation of the Russian fishing fleet, shipbuilding is also paid attention within the framework of the business program: the most pressing problems of the sector are discussed in the form of round tables and open discussions with representatives of shipyards, fish producers and regulators. The open dialogue between the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the industry, held within the framework of the Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia 2021, found a significant response from industry representatives and contributed to the development of systemic coordinated solutions to emerging problems.
“Participation of shipbuilding enterprises in Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia is very important for exhibitors from other sections and for visitors. Now special attention is being paid to state support mechanisms aimed at updating fishing fleet, developing fish processing and also modernizing domestic medium and small-capacity fleet. Under these supporting mechanisms state gives the subsidies from the budget. That’s why shipbuilding and ship repairing services are necessary and high-demanded. The presence of foreign companies engaged in sector will promote experience exchange and singing international contracts.”- told Ivan Fetisov, CEO of Expo Solutions Group - operator of the event.
