Aqua Farm Global – A Meeting Place For All Aquaculture Representatives
17/03/2025

New Special Exposition at Seafood Expo Russia to Unite All Representatives of Aqua- and Mariculture. AQUA FARM GLOBAL will offer the sector extensive opportunities to showcase new approaches to aquaculture, production, and the promotion of fish farming products.

Goals and New Prospects

For the third consecutive year, the aquaculture sector has ranked among the top areas of interest for attendees of the Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia. Last year, 18.74% of all event visitors showed a preference for this sector. A total of 87 companies from Russia, China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Belarus, and other EAEU countries presented their products and services in this section, and discussions on the development of the sector traditionally held a key place in the forum's and exposition’s business agenda.

This was one of the driving factors behind organizing a special exposition to bring together all representatives of the aquaculture industry. Rather than focusing on individual aspects of the field, AQUA FARM GLOBAL will offer the sector a set of practical, applicable solutions to both scientific-technical and economic challenges related to the cultivation of aquatic bioresources across all flow-through and recirculating aquaculture systems.

Aquaculture remains a key driver of growth in the fishery industry, although in recent years it has faced several challenges, such as the rising cost of equipment and difficulties in servicing it, limited access to technology, and shortages of feed, veterinary drugs, and seed material.

Some of these challenges have been mitigated by turning to the experience of China, India, Vietnam, and other friendly countries. The feed supply issue has also been largely resolved: new production capacities have met domestic demand and opened opportunities for export.

However, for sustainable growth, the industry needs not reactive measures, but a strategic development roadmap—and this can only be created through collaborative effort.

United Efforts

The AQUA FARM GLOBAL special exposition will be held within the framework of Seafood Expo Russia. This will allow participants to take full advantage of the country’s leading industry event and gain access to an audience of retailers and professional seafood buyers, built up over eight years.

“The idea to create a special aquaculture exposition was suggested by life itself. This industry needs a dedicated meeting place that addresses all business development and networking needs for at least a year ahead. That’s exactly what AQUA FARM GLOBAL will be. On top of that, participants will gain access to a full marketing and sales infrastructure to promote their farmed fish products. After all, low consumer demand is currently the main obstacle to sector growth,”
– Ivan Fetisov emphasized.

The central feature of the exposition will once again be a functioning recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) with live fish and exhibitors' equipment under real biological load. Around the RAS installation will be booths of fish farms, equipment manufacturers, feed suppliers, veterinary medicine providers, seed stock producers, and various service and technology providers.

Topics for Discussion

AQUA FARM GLOBAL will also feature a rich business program. Over the course of three days, leading sector experts from Russia and abroad will address practical issues faced by Russian aquaculture farms, as well as explore the best international practices. To help shape a comprehensive business agenda, organizers invite participants to submit questions and suggest current topics for discussion.

The AQUA FARM GLOBAL special aquaculture industry exposition will be held October 22–24 as part of the Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia at Pavilion G, ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre, St. Petersburg.
